Sonny Weems of Maccabi Tel Aviv was accused of refusing to take a sanctioned FIBA drug test as repotted by Israeli media, yet the player gave his two sides of the coin, stating that these reports are false.
As mentioned on Walla, Weems states that not only did he take the test, but he also gave out 8 samples while he was also kept for 6 hours straight in order to finish the process.
“I have never taken drugs in my life”, he clearly confirms. “I passed three drug tests in the NBA”.
“I was locked here in a room from 18:00 to 00:30 and I filled 8 cups of urine, but was told it was diluted with water. They gave me water to drink to speed up the process. Reports that I did drugs or refused to take the test are lies. My 3 years old son, Atenas, was waiting by himself, scared at the airport from 21:00 to 01:00. He doesn’t even speak any English and was waiting for me terrified. I had to leave because my son was waiting for me at the airport”.
He continued by expressing his love to the club and fans: “I love Maccabi, I want to win titles here.”
