Dyshawn Pierre took over and led Sassari to a convincing win against Torun in Basketball Champions League

Dyshawn Pierre notched a big double-double and led Dinamo Sassari to a 91-71 home win over Polski Cukier Torun in Basketball Champions League. Sassari improved to 8-3 compared to Torun’s 2-9 record.

Pierre posted 16 points and 19 rebounds along with three assists, three steals and a block. Michele Vitali scored 20 and Curtis Jerrells 16 points.

For Torun, Chris Wright scored 20 in addition to Alade Aminu’s 14 and Keith Hornsby’s 11 points. Aminu also grabbed eight boards.

Sassari led 26-20 after the first quarter and kept the distance by halftime (40-33). They stepped it up a notch after the break and went up by 17 points (65-48) breaking the opposition. The Italian squad led by as much as 26 (83-57) in the final period and sealed the deal.
