Earl Clark notched a double-double and with Vitor Benite’s help pushed San Pablo Burgos to an 87-71 home win over RASTA Vechta.
Burgos advanced to the Basketball Champions League playoffs with this win and will finish third in Group B with an 8-6 record. Vechta got eliminated and will finish the season with six wins (6-8).
Clark banked 16 points in the second quarter on his way to a total of 21 points while also adding 12 rebounds (all defensive), four blocks and three assists. Benite followed with 18 points while Alex Barrera scored ten.
For Vechta, Ishmail Wainright logged 14 points and ten boards while Jordan Davis added 14 and Trevis Simpson 11 points.
After a tied first quarter (22-22), Burgos went ahead 46-34 at halftime led by Clark’s strong second-quarter outing. They kept the distance after the break (65-57) and kept a double-digit lead throughout the whole fourth quarter to seal the deal.
