BAXI Manresa will use the ERTΕ mechanism to meet the expenses of salaries

By Eurohoops team/ info@eurohoops.net

After Casademont Zaragoza’s decision, another Spanish club announced that it will be applying force majeure for its contracts, using the temporary employment regulation file measure (ERTE), which is included in Spanish labor laws.

The decision will affect both the team (players, coaching staff) as well as the office staff.

Per BAXI Manresa:

The coronavirus crisis (COVID-19) is affecting our society, as well as the sports scene at all levels. One of the measures taken was the deferral of the Endesa League at least until April 21, at which time the ACB will meet again to decide if the competition schedule is rescheduled.

As a result of these measures, the revenue of Bàsquet Manresa has been affected. The club has been forced to use the ERTΕ mechanism to meet the expenses of workers’ salaries. This measure will affect staff and technical staff, as well as office staff.

With the aim of being able to move on after this forced stop of the competition, Bàsquet Manresa has launched an ERTΕ for players, coaches and club staff. This measure will be applied proportionally between the different departments, in an agreed and adapted way. This ERTΕ is implemented immediately.

Basketball Manresa takes this communication to thank the work that the country’s health staff is doing, and wants to encourage all the families who are suffering the consequences of this disease. Again, it is recommended that everyone stay home in order to win the pulse on COVID-19.
