Darussafaka Tekfen issued a statement explaining the reasons why the club decided to commit to FIBA’s Basketball Champions League.

In the statement, Darussafaka mentions that they are “pleased to announce the cooperation with the Basketball Champions League, which we believe will be the beginning of a very important change in European and World basketball.”

Darussafaka reached an agreement to play in the Basketball Champions League for the three next seasons with the option for another two following an invitation by the FIBA. BCL is described by the Turkish team as “a competition that best complies with the rules of both sporting and financial fair play.”

“We are excited and delighted with all of our fans in our fight in the Basketball Champions League, one of the highest level basketball organizations in Europe,” Dacka also mentions.

Daurussafaka spent the previous season playing in EuroCup, the competition the team won in 2018. The Turkish side spent the 2016-2017 and 2018-2019 seasons in EuroLeague, apart from the BSL.
