Brose Bamberg announced that the Brose Group will remain the majority shareholder of the club. The Brose Group had previously said that it would sell its shares due to the coronavirus crisis, however, after discussions with the management of the club, they decided to continue as main owners.

Bamberg mayor Andreas Starke held talks with entrepreneurs of the city regarding them entering the company. As the German club mentions, there was no agreement with Brose regarding the “organizational orientation of the club and its sporting goals” which include Bamberg being one of the “top teams in Germany and the Basketball Champions League.”

Due to this situation, Brose chairman Michael Stoschek decided for the company to still be available as the majority shareholder of the club.

Bamberg will be competing in the upcoming BBL 10-team tournament for the completion of the 2019-2020 season.
