Hofstra alumni Rokas Gustys coming off a solid 2019-20 season moves to Rytas Vilnius inking a one-year contract, the Lithuanian club announced on Friday.

“It’s a big step forward in my career,” noted the 25-year-old forward via the press release regarding his addition, “I know fans in Vilnius are wonderful, so this season we will not give up on any of the competitions.”

Apart from domestic competitions in Lithuania, his new team is set to play in the Basketball Champions League having secured a spot in the regular season. BCL will mark his first appearance in any European club competition.

Last season was his first in Lithuania’s top-tier division, LKL. With Siauliai, Gustys put up 11.3 points, 6.5 rebounds, and 1.7 assists per contest over 24 appearances up to the early conclusion of the 2019-20 season due to the coronavirus pandemic.

Prior to going pro and initially landing in Spain’s second-tier division with Palencia, the Kaunas native and Lithuania representative in junior national teams jumped to NCAA and Hofstra, and approached David Robinson’s CAA rebounding record. He averaged 9.9 points and 10.9 rebounds per game over his four seasons.
