Hapoel Jerusalem captain J’ Covan Brown will be out for the upcoming Basketball Champions League Final Eight. The American guard suffered a shoulder injury in Sunday’s preseason game against Hapoel Tel Aviv and will have a “long absence” from courts, the team announced.

This is quite the blow for Jerusalem that will miss one of its elite performers. Brown averaged 14.3 points, 4.9 assists and 3.8 rebounds in the 2019-2020 Basketball Champions League, being the team’s third top scorer and top passer.

The BCL Final Eight was scheduled to be played in Athens on September 30 – October 4, with fans. However recent developments related to the coronavirus crisis and the safety measures may change the initial plan, with the tournament being held in a different city being a possible scenario.
