The main question remains if Tyrese Rice will decide to retire

By Stefan Djordjevic / info@eurohoops.net

AEK Athens won’t pick up the contract option for the rest of the season when it comes to Tyrese Rice.

The 33-year-old guard joined AEK in order to help the squad in the Basketball Champions League Final Eight. They made it to the Final but Rice’s 17 points on 6-12 from the field as well as four assists and two steals in 19 minutes weren’t enough to overcome San Pablo Burgos.

The 2014 EuroLeague champion, Final Four MVP, and Finals Top Scorer has played professionally for 11 years and has recently started considering retirement. The uncertainty coming with the coronavirus pandemic and parting ways with AEK may affect his decision but it is still unknown whether Rice will call it a day.
