After two seasons in FIBA Europe Cup, Pinar Karsiyaka returned to the Basketball Champions League and started it off with an 81-72 road win against RETAbet Bilbao in Group F.
Amath M’Bayer led the way with 17 points while Raymar Morgan and Tony Taylor scored 14 each. DJ Kennedy logged a double-double with ten points and 11 boards.
For Bilbao, Ondrej Balvin scored 14 points and grabbed ten boards while Quentin Serron added 13 and Aaron Jones ten points.
Neither team could gain a significant advantage throughout the firs three quarter but the Turks took over in the final period, led by Taylor, Morgan and Yunus Sonsirma. They went on a 16-5 run to grab an 80-72 lead which was enough to secure the win.
