Sergio Hernandez is set to be announced as the new head coach of Casademont Zaragoza. He will ink a 1+1 contract.

Hernandez, 56, will leave his head coaching role at the Argentina national team until this summer and the Olympic Games to be permitted to assume his new role at Zaragoza, under the ACB rules. Prior to the Tokyo Games, the national team is scheduled to be part of the next batch of 2022 FIBA AmeriCup qualifiers.

The Argentine head coach was labeled as boss of his country’s national team from 2005 to 2010 and returned in 2015. At the club level, he has captured several domestic and continental championships.

The ACB team, also a Basketball Champions League participant, parted ways with the previous head coach, Diego Ocampo, earlier Monday.
