Galatasaray announced that the club reached an agreement with former EuroLeague champion Alex Tyus for the rest of the 2020-2021 season. Tyus is back with the Turkish team where he previously played in 2016-2017 and will be making his first appearance in the Basketball Champions League.

Tyus was a free agent after his 2019-2020 stint with Unics Kazan. Before the season was canceled, the American center was averaging 10.8 points, 6.4 rebounds and 1.3 blocks in 24:48 minutes in EuroCup, along with 10.3 points, 6.1 rebounds and 1.2 blocks in 24:43 minutes in VTB League.

Before Unics, Tyus was on his second run with Maccabi Tel Aviv, the team he won the EuroLeague with in 2014.
