A big road win for VEF Riga against Peristeri after seven straight Basketball Champions League losses away from Latvia

VEF Riga beat Peristeri, 84-81, in a Basketball Champions League Regular Season Group E Gameday 4 contest.

Aigars Skele, among leading scorers, was limited to five minutes and did not attempt a shot, but youngster Kristers Zoriks took over guiding the Latvian outlet to its first Champions League road win with a game-high 20 points. He connected four times from beyond the arc, also grabbed seven rebounds.

Kyle Allman Jr. threw in 16 more points, nine assists, and five rebounds. Puerto Rican Isaiah Pineiro registered 13 points and former Greece resident Michale Kyser added 11 points.

After nine lead changes, both sides ended up at 1-1 in the group. Abdul Gaddy, Tre McLean, and Steven Gray all scored 15 points but were not enough for Peristeri.

Prior to the game, the Greek club confirmed one positive result among the latest tests for team members, also missed injured Terran Petteway.
