Following his Basketball Champions League stints attached to Joventut Badalona, Lietkabelis, and JDA Dijon, Saulius Kulvietis signed with VEF Riga just in time for the playoffs of FIBA’s premier club continental competition, the Latvian club announced Friday.
“I am very happy to join VEF Riga,” noted the Lithuanian forward, “I know this is a great club with a long history and professional management and staff. The team is playing great basketball this season. I hope I can contribute to achieving its high goals. I can’t wait to join the team and help the squad.”
Kulvietis, 29, made his way to 22 BCL matches between his three previous teams. His new side was recently drawn in Group J of the playoffs alongside Igokea, Hereda San Pablo Burgos, and Lenovo Tenerife.
