Happy Casa Brindisi valiantly took on the challenge by Hapoel Unet-Credit Holon but the Israelis were the ones to come out on top in the end with 87-85 on the scoreboard in Group I of the Basketball Champions League.

Hapoel Holon went full attack mode and shot a total of 34 three-pointers compared to Brindisi’s 18. They made ‘only’ three more but one of those came in crunch time by Guy Pnini who banked it in to give his team an 86-85 lead.

That shot was a part of Holon’s 9-2 run to turn the game around as they found themselves down 83-78 with 90 seconds remaining. Darius Thompson missed a potential game-winner on the other side at six seconds on the clock and the guests sealed the deal.

CJ Harris and Chris Johnson were the main force behind Holon’s offense with 17 points each while Niv David Misgav added 12 including in of the two last free throws in the game. Tyrus McGee scored 13 and Pnini 11 points.

Brindis can’t count on the injured D’Angelo Harrison yet but a few names stepped up in his absence. Raphael Gaspardo scored 15 points while Derek Willis added 12 and Riccardo Visconti 11 points.
