Nizhny Novgorod jumped to an early lead and held on en route for the 84-71 victory over Turk Telekom at Ankara Arena on Wednesday.

Andrey Vorontsevich, in his Basketball Champions League debut, made a 15-point contribution alongside six rebounds and five assists helping his side improve to 2-0 in Round of 16 Group K.

Anton Astapkovich fired a game-high 19 points and pulled down ten rebounds. Kasey Shepherd also scored 19 points and Ivan Strebkov had 16.

Holding the opponents to 3/20 from beyond the arc in the Playoffs Gameday 3 contest was key in Ankara.

The Turkish side guided by Burak Goren dominated the first half of the fourth quarter but failed to complete the comeback. Nick Johnson packed a team-high 14 points.

Zoran Lukic’s side fourth BCL win in a row on the road dropped the hosts to 1-2 and 1.5 wins out of the Final 8 spots.
