AEK, eliminated last week from the Basketball Champions League Final 8, dug its way out of a 12-point hole to take down Nizhny Novgorod, 79-78, at home on Wednesday.

Kingsley Moses led the comeback charge with 19 points behind 8/11 field goals. Daryl Macon logged 16 points, including a clutch triple with 27 seconds remaining. Keith Langford added 14 points in the Round of 16 Gameday 6 contest.

The team visiting Athens, in its last step prior to the Final 8, looked in control for most of the second half but did not get the job done. Kasey Shepherd’s 21 points alongside nine rebounds, four assists, and two steals fell short. Andrey Vorontsevich and Artem Komolov missed the game. Zoran Lukic’s side ended its Group K-leading run at 4-2.
