Sergio Hernandez departed for personal reasons and Luis Casimiro will guide Casademont Zaragoza for the remainder of the 2020-21 season, the Spanish club announced Saturday.

Casimiro, 60, carrying coaching experience of 694 ACB games, will officially begin his stint on Monday. Hernandez’s assistant Sergio Lamua will be the interim head coach tomorrow, Sunday, versus Acunsa GBC in Regular Season Round 32 action.

Apart from the Spanish league, Zaragoza is part of the Basketball Champions League Final 8. Friday’s draw set up a matchup against host Nizhny Novgorod planned to take place in about three weeks.

Rodriguez, 57, took over head coaching responsibilities early in the current season but personal reasons prevent him from completing the 2020-21 campaign.
