Vitor Benite was voted as the MVP of the Basketball Champions League Final 8, he was the top scorer of the final for San Pablo Burgos and had won twice the BCL trophy during the 2020-21 season, plus the FIBA Intercontinental Cup.

So that’s why he needs some taste of vodka on the way back from Russia to Spain: “I hope that someone is bringing it to the plane because we have to travel back. I hope that someone has thought about that and we will have vodka, we will have everything because this kind of stuff we have to celebrate it well and since we are in Russia…

I am not going to say how much I am going to drink, but for sure I am going to say to one of the younger guys on the team to take care of me if we get back to Burgos and I don’t know where I am. That’s for sure”.

As a member of the first back-to-back Basketball Champions League winners, Benite totally grasps the historic meaning of this occasion but also credits the competition for a once-in-a-lifetime run for Burgos: “It’s not only about Burgos. The Basketball Champions League is an amazing competition, grows year by year, we have better teams, better players. and for Burgos to be able to play twice and win it’s a stage that you can showcase your talent. The BCL is the future in Europe and we are happy to be part of it”.
