Hereda San Pablo Burgos will try to do what seems impossible and win the Basketball Champions League three times in a row but that will have to happen with a largely different roster than the previous seasons.

One of the changes will be Dani Diez who has joined the team for the upcoming year, the club announced.

Per Hereda San Pablo Burgos:

Dani Díez (04/07/1993, Madrid) will be part of the Hereda San Pablo Burgos squad for the squad that will compete next season 2021/22 in the Endesa acb League and in the Basketball Champions League (BCL). The 2.01m from Madrid can perform functions as a forward and also play in positions closer to the rim, where he stands out for his rebounding ability and for his progression in defensive tasks. The player has developed his sports career in Spain and has defended the Spanish National Team shirt on various occasions.

Díez began his career as a player in the lower categories of Estudiantes, where he trained before joining the Real Madrid junior team in the 2009/10 campaign. A few years later, the Madrilenian left on loan from the white club to Lagun Aro GBC, in which he competed during the 2012/13 campaign.

In the following campaign, Real Madrid returned to make his services to be part of the first team. Under Pablo Laso, the player was champion of the 2013 Spanish Super Cup and the 2014 Copa del Rey, as well as being runner-up in the Euroleague and the Endesa League in the same course.

After a new year on loan at Gipuzkoa Basket GBC, where he accumulated good averages of 12.1 points, 6.8 rebounds and 14.6 PIR credits and was elected Best Youngster in the Endesa League in the 2014/15 season, Dani Díez was signed by Unicaja. In the Malaga team, he remained throughout four seasons and managed to lift a Eurocup title in the 2016/17 academic year.

In the summer of 2019, the Madrid native joined the ranks of Iberostar Tenerife, a club in which he has played for the last two seasons and alongside which he won the 2020 FIBA Intercontinental Cup.

From San Pablo Burgos, we want to wish Dani Díez all the luck in the world for this new stage of his sports career.
