Melo Trimble put on an offensive show with 33 points on 8-10 triples as Galatasaray kicked off the 2021-22 Basketball Champions League season with a 101 – 85 win over Nymburk.

This is Trimble’s top scoring performance during his stint in Europe. The 26-year-old point guard also had six rebounds and didn’t commit any turnover during the 26:48 minutes he spent on the floor.

DeVaughn Akoon-Purcell added 23 points and six rebounds for Galatasaray that controlled the game after the first quarter and was particularly effective in the second half. The Turkish side fell behind 5-14 early in the game but proceeded to turn things around in the beginning of the second period and go up 33-30.

When Nymburk tied the score at 53  in the third period, Galatasaray took a distance thanks to a 12-2 run and then established a double-digit lead in the final stretch of the match.

Jerrick Harding led Nymburk’s efforts with 21 points and five rebounds. Vojtech Hruban had 13 points plus five rebounds.

Dee Bost contributed 13 points and five assists for Galatasaray.
