SIG Strasbourg, in control most of the way, got the job done on the road, 83-77, versus Filou Oostende in the second Monday “Game of the Week” of the Basketball Champions League.

Explosive point guard John Roberson recorded all of his 20 points after the break, also had six assists in the Regular Season Gameday 2 contest. DeAndre Lansdowne fired 14 points and Yannis Morin followed with 13 points at Versluys Dome.

Additional contribution from Jaromir Bohacik with 11 points and Matt Mitchell at 10 points. Coming back from injury, Ike Udanoh packed nine points, seven rebounds, and three assists. Injured Jarell Eddie remained out.

Lassi Tuovi’s side, 0-2 in Betclic Elite LNB Pro A, improved to 2-0 in Group F. The W was the sixth in seven BCL games against Oostende.

Fresh of a severe knee injury for Brandon McCoy, expected to be sidelined for several months, the hosts jumped to an early 12-6 lead, but from that point mostly played catch-up. Multiple comeback attempts were warded off by the French side, enjoying a dominant display on the boards with 39 rebounds overall, including a key effort of 14 offensive.

The team led by Dario Gjergja, 5-0 in the betFirst BNXT League, is now 0-2 in the Champions League. Pierre-Antoine Gillet’s game-high 21 points went to waste, as did Levi Randolph scoring 17 points, off a hot start with nine points in the first quarter.

Group F Round 3 will feature Strasbourg at home opposite Tofas Bursa and Oostende at Kalev/Cramo on 26 October.
