Tyson Carter was cooking and Lavrio Megabolt prevailed, 95-86, in overtime against Nizhny Novgorod on Tuesday.

The former Mississippi State standout poured a career-high 35 points marking the Basketball Champions League Regular Season Round 3 affair. He already was the only player of Christos Serelis scoring in double-digits in the first two games, this time around also dished out six assists en route for the game-high 34 efficiency rating.

Ivan Strebkov connecting a three-pointer for a one-point lead with four seconds remaining nearly spoiled the party at the Peace and Friendship Stadium, usually hosting Olympiacos home matches. Petros Geromichalos going 1/2 from the free-throw line forced five extra minutes.

The home side previously failed to keep momentum after going up by 13 points.

Vassilis Mouratos chipped in 15 points helping the Greek team advance to 2-1, one win behind Unicaja Malaga and one win over JDA Dijon in Group C. Marcus Lewis had 11 points and Dimitris Kaklamanakis posted a 10-point, 13-rebound double-double for the BCL newcomer, also at 4-1 in Greece’s Stoiximan Basket League

Strebkov, 30, ended up with five triples and 21 points to his name, but the team coached by Zoran Lukic fell to 0-3 in the 2021-22 Champions League Regular Season with the losing streak stretching from 2020-21 extended to six games. Lazeric Jones, Evgeny Baburin, and Anton Astapkovich were not available to play in Greece.

Postgame press conference:

The reverse fixture between the two teams will be coming up in Round 4, on November 17.
