Pinar Karsiyaka signed former EuroLeague champion Alex Tyus, the Turkish club announced. Tyus is set to make his first appearance in the Basketball Champions League with his new team.

A European basketball veteran, 33-year-old Tyus joins the third Turkish team in his career after Anadolu Efes (2015-2016) and Galatasaray (2016-2017). He last played for Real Madrid from December 2020 to last July.

Tyus won the EuroLeague with Maccabi Tel Aviv in 2014. He also claimed several Israeli League and Cup trophies during a two-year (2012-2014) stint with the Yellows.

Karsiyaka is currently 2-1 in Group B of the Basketball Champions League regular season while being tied with Fenerbahce at 6-1 and the first spot in the Turkish League standings.
