Dinamo Sassari beat MHP Riesen Ludwigsburg 82 – 75 to capture its first win in the 2021-22 Basketball Champions League regular season while snapping the German team’s undefeated streak.

Five players scored in double figures for Sassari in a very balanced offensive effort. Eimantas Bendzius led the charge with 17 points, Tyus Battle scored 15, Kaspar Treier dropped 14 points before fouling out and Jason Burnell had 13 points.

David Logan contributed 10 points and 10 assists for Sassari that led up to 13 points, 64 – 51 early in the fourth period following an impressive 16 – 1 run.

MHP Riesen had a 50 – 51 lead near the end of the third quarter after coming back from down 36 – 27 at halftime was unable to make an extra push for yet another turnaround.

Justin Simon scored a game-high 26 points and had seven rebounds for the visiting side. Veteran Tremmel Darden finished with 14 points and seven boards.
