Rytas Vilnius secured a close (and very important) 71-69 home win against EWE Baskets Oldenburg in the Basketball Champions League. The Lithuanian improved to a 3-2 record while Oldenburg bottoms Group H with 1-4.

Rytas had multiple double-digit leads throughout the game and was up 67-57 with four minutes remaining, however, Oldenburg put on one last comeback effort and even had a shot for the win in the final seconds.

Oldenburg went on an 8-0 run (70-69) and, after Vaidas Kariniauskas missed one of his two free throws, had a chance to win it but Cameron Clark missed the three-point attempt.

Maurice Ndour was the leading scorer for the victors with 15 points while Gytis Radzevicius had 13 points and ten rebounds. Vaidas Kariniauskas added 12 and Arnas Butkevicius ten points.

For Oldenburg, Tai Odiase scored 19 in addition to Matt Farrell, Rickey Paulding, and Phil Pressey’s ten points each.
