Powered by 12/26 three-pointers, Lenovo Tenerife rolled past Banco di Sardegna Sassari, 84-63, Tuesday.

Marcelo Huertas poured 16 points to go along with three rebounds and two assists. Georgian Giorgi Shermadini also got 16 points. Sharpshooter Kyle Wiltjer paced his side to a comfortable lead early producing ten of his 12 points in the first half of the Basketball Champions League Regular Season Gameday 6 contest.

On the losing end, former Syracuse standout Tyus Battle rocked 16 points and Christian Mekowulu added 11 points. Jason Burnell finished with eight points, four rebounds, three rebounds, and one steal. Stefano Gentile and Gerald Robinson were not available.

The fourth BCL meeting of the two teams generated the first win for the visiting team. The home side had prevailed by a margin greater than 20 points in each of the three previous matchups.

The win at PalaSerradimigni shaped the 4-2 mark on the completed effort in Group A of the Regular Season for the team coached by Txus Vidorreta. Being the second seed leads into a best-of-three Play-In series with the home-court advantage against the third-placed team of Group B, Pinar Karsiyaka or Hapoel Bank Yahav Jerusalem or Arged BM Stal Wielkopolski. Game 1 will be held in the first week of January.

The fifth loss in a row across all competitions forced the team guided by Piero Bucchi to 1-5 in the Champions League. After its fifth BCL campaign, Sassari will focus on Italy’s LBA Serie A hoping to improve the current 5-7 W-L tally.
