Unicaja is getting reinforced with the addition of shooting guard Matt Mooney to its roster, per reports by Diario Sur’s John Calderon.

The Spanish side has been working on the player’s contract in recent weeks, although the fact that Mooney had signed a couple of 10-day contracts with the New York Knicks slowed down the move. However, per the report, a couple of days ago everything was outlined and Mooney is en route to Malaga.

Mooney, 24, has averaged 15 points, 6.5 assists and 3.4 rebounds per game in the NBA G-League this season and will land in Europe for the first time with Unicaja.

Unicaja faces Oostende at home this upcoming Wednesday, looking to pick up their first victory in the Basketball Champions League Round of 16, after suffering a 73-79 defeat to Cluj Napoca last week.
