MHP Riesen Ludwigsburg veteran Tremmell Darden will miss Friday’s Basketball Champions League semifinal against BAXI Manresa (21:00 CET) for medical reasons.
The competition informed that Darden will be replaced by Tekele Cotton for the game. His status for Sunday is expected to be re-evaluated.
Darden, 40, has led MHP Riesen to their second BCL Final Four presence with an average of 8.9 points and 3.2 rebounds across 13 contests in the 2021-22 campaign. He scored a season-high 16 points and 7 rebounds against Lenovo Tenerife on Gameday 3 of the regular season.
Cotton, 28, has participated in three Round of 16 contests with the German club this season upon signing a deal in February, averaging 7.0 points and 3.0 rebounds per game. This is Cotton’s second stint with Riesen, following a two-year run between 2015 and 2017.
