Big signing for UnaHotels Reggio Emilia as experienced Michele Vitali boosts the Basketball Champions League squad

Returning to the Basketball Champions League, Michele Vitali joined UnaHotels Reggio Emilia by penning a three-year contract with team and player options after the 2023-24 season, the team announced Saturday.

Vitali, 30, featured in 27 BCL contests between Brose Bamberg in 2020-21 and Dinamo Banco di Sardegna Sassari in 2019-20, before last year’s switch to Umana Reyer Venezia. The Bologna-born guard became the fourth offseason addition following up the signings of Sacar Anim, Nate Reuvers, and Gabe Stefanini. Also, Andrea Cinciarini and Mikael Hopkins re-signed.

Lithuanian forward Rapolas Ivanauskas inked a deal with ERA Nymburk for the next season. The third newcomer for the NBL champions following Kamau Stokes and Nate Watson. In other offseason moves, Petr Benda and Jakub Tuma both extended their contracts.

As for Qualifiers outfits powering up, Kosovo champion Golden Eagle Ylli has confirmed Malcolm Armstead, Valon Bunjaku, Chris Harris Jr, Gezim Morina, Adrit Pepaj, Ismet Sejfic, Drilon Shala, and Henrik Sirko on the 2022-23 squad.

Meanwhile, Cyprus champion Keravnos acquired Titus Robinson and retained Deondre Burns apart from penning team captain Simon Michael to a three-year contract extension and 16-year-old Stefanos Tigkas to a four-year contract.

Slovakia champion Levicki Patrioti will feature Martin Bachan, Boris Bojanovsky, Daniel Chaban, Drasko Knezevic, Eduard Kotasek, Ben Kovac, Miha Lapornik, Tre’Darius McCallum, Jakub Meress, Patrik Pazicky, Samuel Solcansky, and Henri Wade-Chatman.

Austria’s Swans Gmunden added Zach Charles, Dominic Green, Urald King, and Dwayne Lautier-Ogunleye. Coming back are Toni Blazan, Benedikt Guttl, Daniel Koeppel, Daniel Friedrich, Petar Nemcec, and Lukas Schartmuller.

Czech side Opava welcomed Dontay Bassett, Radek Farsky, and Jakub Mokran, and also extended the contract of Jakub Slavik.

TFT Skopje landed Donovan Donaldson, Trevor Jasinsky, Chris Tawiah, and Trent Buttrick.
