Eighth win in nine games across all competitions in the 2022-23 season, MHP Riesen Ludwigsburg was impressive once more with a 90-70 victory against Darussafaka Wednesday.

Rookie point guard out of Notre Dame, Prentiss Hubb dropped 17 points plus seven assists and five rebounds in the Basketball Champions League Regular Season Gameday 3 affair hosted in Istanbul’s Volkswagen Arena. He had eight points in the game-altering second period.

Trailing 21-13 late in the first quarter, Josh King’s side was up 39-21 with less than four minutes left in the second quarter. The dominating 26-0 run was the biggest part of jumping to 3-0 at the halfway mark of the double-legged round-robin schedule of Group E.

Ludwigsburg got points from ten players, paired with trademark defense, especially in the 26-0 stretch, it was smooth sailing in Turkey. Justin Johnson put in 15 points, five rebounds, five assists, and one steal. Isaiah Whitehead logged 15 more points. Another double-digit scoring effort in Jhonathan Dunn’s ten points.

Back from his first double-double in the Champions League, British center Gabriel Olaseni finished with 25 points, nine rebounds, two assists, and one block in the losing effort. Apparently frustrated down the stretch, Dogus Özdemiroglu filed in 14 points, eight rebounds, seven assists, and two steals. Ercan Osmani got 10 points, nine of those in the third quarter.

A BCL five-game winning streak at home was snapped as Dacka fell to 1-2, one point behind Hapoel Bank Yahav Jerusalem and one ahead of the Bakken Bears. Domestically, Selcuk Ernak sits at 2-3 in Turkey’s BSL.
