Chinanu Onuaku and Dinamo Banco di Sardegna Sassari have parted ways, the Italian club announced.

As per the official report, the two parties reached a consensual agreement for the termination of the contract: “The Club wishes him the best of luck for the rest of his career”.

Onuaku signed with Dinamo Sassari on July 20 and ended his stay in Italy with 14.8 points, eight rebounds, and 2.4 assists in nine games between Lega Basket Serie A and Basketball Champions League.

The 26-year-old power forward came to the Sardinian club as an MVP of the Israeli league, where he played for Bnei Herzliya winning the State Cup and finishing it also with MVP honors.

The former No. 37 pick from the NBA Draft started his professional career with the Houston Rockets. Mainly, he was playing for Rio Grande Valley Vipers, their affiliated team in the G League. His first stint in European basketball was with KK Zadar in 2020.

Dinamo Sassari didn’t start the season well. After six rounds in LBA, they are 14th with a 2-4 score, while in BCL they are winless after three rounds.
