After losing 83-76 in Turkey on Gameday 3, UNAHOTELS Reggio Emilia bounced back against Pinar Karsiyaka in front of its fans, getting the 74-70 win, the first one at home in the 2022-23 BCL.

The red-and-white team’s captain Andrea Cinciarini proved once again to be the heart and soul of Max Menetti’s squad, stepping up with 14 points, 6 rebounds, and 4 assists.

After dishing out 10 or more assists in his first BCL games of the season, the 36-year-old Italian playmaker didn’t get another double-double but took over when needed.

Nate Reuvers (16 p.), who put in the three-point game-winner in the last minute, Osvaldas Olisevicius (18 p.), and Sacar Anim all scored in double-digits, combining for 46 points together.

Despite the loss, Errick McCollum had another good 2022-23 Basketball Champions League personal night, ending the game with 19 points and 7 assists but shooting 5/13 from the field.

Vitto Brown went close to being the highest scorer on Ufuk Sarica’s team, as the former Real Betis played had 18 points.

In his first European game with Pinar after leaving Galatasaray, Braian Angola scored 12 points and grabbed 6 rebounds off the bench.

Despite having way more points off the bench (40 vs 27), the Turkish team couldn’t get the job done in Italy. Both teams had a rough night shooting free throws (Reggio Emilia 9/17, Pinar Karsiyaka 18/29).

With this win, Reggio Emilia reaches Pinar Karsiyaka, which has now lost four of its six BCL games in Italy, on a 2-2 record in Group B, waiting for Telekom Baskets Bonn to go against AEK Athens on Wednesday at 20:00 CET.
