In control from start to finish and building a comfortable lead from the first half, Lenovo Tenerife claimed the clinching win, 86-60, versus Peristeri bwin Wednesday evening.

Moving into a new personal best for the 2022-23 season in the second quarter, Fran Guerra logged all of his 15 points in the first half with his side pulling away. The Las Palmas-born center connected all his six field goal attempts, including one from beyond the arc, before all three of his shots in the second half of the one-sided Basketball Champions League Regular Season Gameday 5 contest.

The 2022 Champions League Final Four MVP of the reigning champions, Marcelo Huertas logged 14 points and six assists. Giorgi Shermadini finished with 13 points for the team guided by Txus Vidorreta, co-leader of Spain’s Liga Endesa behind a 9-2 record. Responsible for four of the 11 team three-pointers, Finnish sharpshooter Sasu Salin chipped in 12 points.

Struggling all night at Santiago Martin, the Greek outfit limited to 7/25 three-pointers with the lion’s share tucked in the fourth period prevented any sparks to light a solid comeback bid. With Dimitris Moraitis missing the trip to La Laguna, standing out of available players was Shakur Juiston producing a team-high 12 points.

The lasting BCL originals based in the Canary Islands jumping to 4-1 clinched the top seed in Group H. At the same time, the team coached by Vassilis Spanoulis fell unceremoniously to 2-3 and into a tie with Bnei Ofek Dist Herzliya and Rytas Vilnius. Next week’s Gameday 6 featuring Peristeri in Israel and the Lithuania champions at home versus Tenerife will decide the two berths in the Play-In round and the odd team out.
