Good news coming in from Belgium, Galatasaray Nef tops Group C of the Basketball Champions League Regular Season

Blowing out the game in the second half, Galatasaray Nef marched past Legia Warszawa, 90-76, in COS Torwar Tuesday night.

Tyrus McGee banked in a game-high 20 points, including nine in the pivotal third quarter. The Lions outscored the hosts, 29-16, coming out of halftime, and built a solid separation entering the fourth period, carrying over to the win in the Basketball Champions League Regular Season Gameday 6 affair. Paired with Hapoel Atsmon Holon losing in Belgium, the team coached by Andreas Pistiolis ranked first in the final standings of Group C.

More help in improving to 4-2 and getting into the favorable tiebreaker opposite the Israel champions, experienced forward Angelo Caloiaro went for 14 points, six rebounds, six assists, and one steal. Dylan Ennis added 13 points and a game-high seven assists in Warsaw. Turkish power forward Sadik Emir Kabaca chipped in 12 points, four rebounds, three steals, two blocks, and one assist. Stuck on the injury list, Jehyve Floyd was not available.

The Militarians were already knocked out of contention. Ray McCallum Jr. stood out packing 20 points in the last outing and Travis Leslie added 18 points for the hosts coached by Wojciech Kaminski. Former Creighton standout Geoffrey Groselle posted a 12-point, 14-rebound double-double. Recently removed from the team, Devyn Marble was not part of the lineup.

Galata will move into Group K along with Unicaja and two Play-In winners, but the hosts completed their first run in the Champions League with a 1-5 record.
