After a very balanced first Sweet 16 game, JDA Bourgogne Dijon found the 84-77 on-the-road win against Hapoel Jerusalem, in what promises to be the most hostile court of the Basketball Champions League.

David Holston, who made 10+ assists in each of his previous three BCL games, as often as in his first 56 appearances, was as usual the leader of the French team, recording a double-double of 20 points and 13 assists.

A big scoring contribution came from the big man Gavin Ware, who had a season-high 24 points with 7 rebounds and 11/13 off the bench. Markis McDuffie and Gregor Hrovat combined for 29 points.

On the losing home side, Zach Hankins, who made at least seven field goals in each of his previous five BCL appearances, performed a double-double of 13 points and 10 rebounds, scoring 5/6 from the field.

Speedy Smith went close to a double-double with 8 points and 12 assists, while Levi Randolph was the highest scorer of the Israeli team with 14 points.

The two French teams, SIG Strasbourg and JDA Bourgogne Dijon are now on top of Group I. On Tuesday, Luca Banchi’s team overcame Hapoel Holon in OT.
