The reigning Basketball Champions League champions stay unbeaten in the Round of 16, as Lenovo Tenerife beat 78-66 Surne Bilbao.

The veteran Giorgi Shermadini was the highest scorer for Txus Vidorreta’s team with 22 points and 7 rebounds, shooting 10/14 from the field.

Bruno Fitipaldo followed with 19 points, erupting from beyond the arc with 5/8 on threes. Sasu Salin, moreover, added 10 points.

On the losing side, Adam Smith had 16 points replacing Ludvig Hakanson on the court but he wasn’t enough.

Michale Kyser, who is one of the only two players to have scored more than 10 field goals against Lenovo Tenerife in a BCL game, in 2021 with VEF Riga, ended with 10 points and 5 rebounds.

Lenovo Tenerife was way better than its opponents with points from the bench (37 vs 20) and had better percentages from two (58.82% vs 45%), three (40.91% vs 27.27%), and at the line (84.62% vs 70.59%).

The Canarian side stays unbeaten in Group L with 3 victories in a row, while Surne Bilbao is now at a 1-2 record. The other clash between UCAM Murcia and Darussafaka was rescheduled after the devastating earthquake that hit both Turkey and Syria.
