After qualifying for the Quarter-Finals in Week 5, UCAM Murcia won another Spanish derby in the 2022-23 Basketball Champions League against Surne Bilbao, getting the 71-67 on-the-road victory.
Nemanja Radovic had a double-double with 12 points and 11 rebounds, while David Jelinek and Travis Trice followed. The former scored 16, the latter had 10 points and 4 rebounds.
Artem Pustovyi, who scored his BCL-high 23 points against Bilbao in the reverse fixture, ended with only 3 tonight. Ilimane Diop had a better impact in the paint with 7 points and 4 rebounds.
The Adam Smith-Michale Kyser American duo led the way for Surne Bilbao Basket. The point guard struggled from the field (4/12) but scored 14, while the former Hapoel Holon center had 14 with 6 rebounds.
Georgios Tsalmpouris, who scored a total of 26 points in his previous two BCL games with Surne Bilbao, as many as in his previous 13 games in the competition, ended with 11.
UCAM Murcia locked the Quarter-Finals spot behind Lenovo Tenerife as the second-best team in Group L. On the other end, Surne Bilbao Basket finished the Round of 16 with a 2-4 in the third place.
