After winning the third place game in the Basketball Champions League, and also being part of the first All-BCL team Marcelinho Huertas will celebrate his 40th birthday on the 25th of May with a bittersweet feeling.

“We have to be proud of the work we have done all season”, he said to Eurohoops just after the final buzzer for him in the competition, admitting that things didn’t go Lenovo Tenerife’s way, but on the other hand all games so far “has been decided by one possession”.

However, with the season continuing in Liga Endesa for himself and his team, once more Huertas repeated that at this point, despite his age, he doesn’t think about retirement.

After all, his performance all season suggests that he still can compete and as he explained: “I only think about the present and that’s what I want to do. Just keep my mind fresh, take care of my body and remain hungry for basketball, that’s all I am thinking about”.
