As officially announced by UCAM Murcia, Sito Alonso will keep on being the head coach of the Spanish side for next season. He has been the head coach of UCAM Murcia since 2019 and has concluded this past 2022-23 season just out of the ACB Playoffs, at the 9th spot.
In the Basketball Champions League, he has been eliminated by Unicaja Malaga in the Quarter-Finals, not making it to the Final Four in Andalucia. Sito Alonso, who has been coaching teams like Joventut Badalona, Baskonia, and Barcelona in the past, became the head coach with the most games in the ACB in the club’s history.
During his 30-year career, he has collected one Copa del Rey with Joventut Badalona in 2008 and the bronze medal at the U20 EuroBasket with the Spanish national team.
