Jarell Martin moved to Turkey

Galatasaray Nef continued its new pre-season squad structure by adding American big forward Jarell Martin to its squad. He played for Maccabi in EuroLeague.

He was born on May 24, 1994 in Los Angeles, United States. He started his basketball career with Louisiana State University in the NCAA league. In 2015, he was selected by the Memphis Grizzlies with the 25th overall pick in the first round of the NBA draft.

He played in 25 games with the Memphis Grizzlies in the 2015/16 season and averaged 5.6 points and 3.2 rebounds on the field. Jarell, who played for the Memphis Grizzlies again in 2016/17 the next season, played in 45 games this season. In the same season, he also took part in 22 matches with Iowa Energy, one of the G League teams.

In the 2017/18 season, which is his third season with the Memphis Grizzlies, our new transfer, whose number of matches increased to 72, contributed to his team with 7.8 points, 4.4 rebounds and 1.0 assists in these matches.

In the 2018/19 season, he was transferred to another NBA team, the Orlando Magic, and played in 45 matches. After spending a preparatory season with the Cleveland Cavaliers in the 2019/20 season, he briefly turned his route to China and returned to the NBA G League in February with the Rio Grande Valley Vipers, playing for 4 months with the Shenzhen Leopards. After spending the 2020/21 and 202/22 seasons in the Australian League, he competed with Maccabi Playtika Tel-Aviv, one of the strong teams of the Israeli League and Euroleague, at the beginning of last season.

Jarell Martin, who played 28 times in the Israeli League and 38 times in the EuroLeague with Maccabi jersey, had an effective season with 7.2 points, 3.5 rebounds, and 52% field hits in the games he played in the EuroLeague.
