By Eurohoops Team/ info@eurohoops.net

A huge showing for Marcelinho Huertas. Besides becoming the first player with 500 assists in the Basketball Champions League, he was the driving force for Lenovo Tenerife with 13 points in the fourth quarter.

The 40-year-old point guard posted a 21-point, 11-assist double-double in the win, 72-63, versus Darussafaka Lassa on Tuesday. The 17th straight win in BCL home games matched AS Monaco’s record.

With six dimes in the first quarter, Huertas quickly hit the milestone. But that was not it for the Brazilian international. He added five more assists and went into double-double territory fueling the fourth-quarter rally. Dacka previously led by a margin of 14 points in Santiago Martin Arena.

Serbian import Dusan Ristic posted a 13-point, 11-rebound double-double. American Tim Abromaitis added ten points and eight rebounds. Elgin Cook sat out the Gameday 4 contest with left knee discomfort, but his side went up to 3-1 in Group C.

Coming in tied with Tenerife and Cholet on top of the group, the team coached by Yakup Sekizkok fell to 2-2, as did the French club earlier. Kyle Allman Jr. scored a team-high 11 points in San Cristobal de La Laguna. Dealing with foul trouble, David McCormack followed with ten points. Doruk Dora, Canberk Kus, and Mason Jones were out.

Postgame press conference

At 5-5 in Spain’s Liga Endesa, Txus Vidorreta’s side will switch to domestic action and meet Dreamland Gran Canaria in the Canary Islands derby on Sunday.
