Set for an introduction in Europe, Brandon Knight joined AEK Betsson in the Basketball Champions League.

Knight, 32, penned a contract for the remainder of the 2023-24 season, the team announced on Thursday.

The former Kentucky standout is a veteran of 451 games played in the NBA, including 349 starts. After being selected with the eighth overall pick of the 2011 draft by the Detroit Pistons, he stayed in Motor City for two years. Moving to the Milwaukee Bucks, Phoenix Suns, Houston Rockets, Cleveland Cavaliers, and Dallas Mavericks described the next stops, besides a return to Detroit at the bottom end of the 2019-20 Regular Season.

With his NBA status declining, G League action was largely involved in the latest campaigns. In his first overseas experience, inking a deal with Piratas de Quebradillas last March culminated with being named MVP and Scoring Champion of Puerto Rico’s Baloncesto Superior Nacional.

Further recent roster adjustments landed Ricky Ledo and Jordan Morgan for the team coached by Joan Plaza. The remaining players include Manos Chatzidakis, Dimitris Flionis, Langston Hall, Zois Karampelas, Giannis Kouzeloglou, Mindaugas Kuzminskas, Jordan McRae, Omiros Netzipoglou, Chasson Randle, and Justin Tillman.

Topping Group D of the Champions League’s Regular Season, the Queen punched in a direct ticket to the Round of 16. An early entry alongside UCAM Murcia, Promitheas or Le Mans and Hapoel Holon or Filou Oostende will complete the four-team group, depending on the outcome of the respective best-of-three Play-In series.
