Filou Oostende heads to Game 3 of the Basketball Champions League Play-In series for a third year in a row

A solid reply in Gameday 2 of the Basketball Champions League Play-In series for Filou Oostende.

BCO defeating Hapoel Holon, 71-61, tied the best-of-three series at 1-1 on Tuesday.

Veteran point guard Sam Van Rossom scored 12 points behind four three-pointers in the second quarter. Chipping in six assists, four rebounds, and two steals, he ranked among the top performers for the team coached by Dario Gjergja. Recording six of a team-high 15 points in the fourth quarter, captain Pierre-Antoine Gillet edged out his teammate 23 versus 22 for the highest efficiency rating. Damien Jefferson added 14 points.

The Belgium champions are faced with Game 3 in a Play-In series for a third straight season. Taking on the league leaders in Play-In wins, the decider returns the series to Szombathely’s Arena Savaria next Tuesday. The winner will join AEK Betsson, UCAM Murcia, and Promitheas in Group L of the Regular Season.

Besides forcing Game 3 against the team coached by Amit Sherf, the lasting original of the BCL marked the first four-game winning streak in COREtec Dome through all eight campaigns of FIBA Europe’s top-tier club continental competition.

Shawn Dawson producing 16 points stood out in Holon’s third loss in as many away games versus Oostende in the Champions League. Justin Smith finished with 12 points and nine rebounds. Deondre Burns had ten points.

Similar to Game 1, Haris Bratanovic and Niv Misgav remained on respective injury lists.
