Former Arizona standout Nick Johnson joined Cholet on Thursday.

Johnson, 31, adds to his experience in the Basketball Champions League, including four games played with Hapoel Holon and 5.3 points per contest in the 2023-24 Regular Season. Stretching from 2019-20 to 2020-21, a productive spell with Turk Telekom generated the previous 26 appearances. Returning to the Champions League and replacing Craig Randall II for the team coached by Laurent Vila, he also reunited with T.J. Campbell, a former teammate at Turk Telekom.

Parting ways with Sofiane Briki on Sunday, fellow French BCL club SIG Strasbourg penned a familiar face in Boris Dallo to a contract for the rest of the season. A brief stay on the free-agent market for the 29-year-old swingman after being released by LDLC ASVEL Villeurbanne. Spending the 2019-20 campaign at Strasbourg, he made his way to 14 of his 18 appearances in FIBA Europe’s top-tier club continental competition. “I am very happy to return and looking forward to meeting my teammates,” he mentioned.

In Group I of the Round of 16, Cholet at 1-2 and Strasbourg at 0-3 trail Unicaja and Tofas at the midway point of the double-legged round-robin schedule. Tied at 11-12 in the domestic league, both sides are looking for a berth in the Playoffs down the stretch of the Betclic Elite Regular Season.

Elsewhere in the Champions League, recent injury issues sidelined AEK Betsson’s Justin Tillman and Hapoel Bank Yahav Jerusalem’s Gabriel Chachashvili.
