Looking to go all the way in the Basketball Champions League, Unicaja added to a brilliant run on Tuesday.

Comfortably improving to 4-0 in Group I of the Round of 16, the team based in Malaga ended up with a 91-62 victory versus SIG Strasbourg. Fifth win in as many continental showings in Palacio de Deportes Jose Maria Martin Carpena this season.

Packing 17 points behind 6/7 field goals, Jonathan Barreiro set his individual best across all competitions in the 2023-24 campaign to 17 points. Tyson Carter shared a game-high 17 points with 7/8 field goals. Both standouts connected three three-pointers.

Tyler Kalinoski registering 12 points surfaced a third double-digit scoring showing for the team coached by Ibon Navarro. Team captain Alberto Diaz threw in seven points, five rebounds, five assists, and four steals. Kendrick Perry did not suit up for the Gameday 4 affair.

Massimo Cancellieri’s side was forced down to 0-4 with a fifth straight BCL loss on the road. Tallying 13 points, Phil Booth was the lone double-digit scorer in Spain.

Postgame press conference

If Tofas defeats Cholet on Wednesday, Unicaja will clinch a berth in the Quarterfinals and Strasbourg will be knocked out of contention. Otherwise, both scenarios will extend to next week’s Gameday 5.

In weekend action, Unicaja visits Rio Breogan looking to jump to 20-4 in Spain’s Liga Endesa. At 12-12 in France’s Betclic Elite, Strasbourg will be on the road opposite SLUC Nancy on Sunday.
