Heading to this week, AEK had the opportunity of already qualifying directly for the Basketball Champions League Quarter-Finals, having started the Round of 16 on a 3-0 record.
Despite Wurzburg Baskets trying their best in order to postpone this possibility, the Queen mathematically clinched a spot in the Quarter-Finals, winning 84-77 at home.
Hunter Hale had 23 points over 15/18 from the line.
RaiQuan Gray (15 points) and Grant Golden (13 points, 7 rebounds, and 4 assists) followed in helping AEK get the win.
Jhivvan Jackson had the same amount of points but the Germans ultimately lost despite staying ahead for 35:37 minutes.
After last year’s disappointing run in the Round of 16, the Queen is now 4-0 at this stage of the competition, officially heading to the Top 8.
