Francis Okoro will fill the gap left by Dimaggio Wiggins, with whom they parted ways.
Last season, he wore the Karditsa jersey for 15 games in the Stoiximan GBL and was instrumental in securing the 5th place, averaging 7.6 rebounds (first on the list), with 1.3 blocks (second-best blocker), and also scoring 6 points per game in 20.7 minutes of play.
The club also announced Okoro’s arrival on social media.
“Francis Okoro is 26 years old (born November 9, 1999, in Imo, Nigeria), stands 2.06 m tall, and plays as a center. He began playing basketball in a U.S. high school and competed in the NCAA first with Oregon and then with Saint Louis. His European career began in France in 2023, and mid-season he transferred to Lithuanian club Nevezis. Last season, he started in the Greek league with Kolossos, then joined ASK Karditsa IAPONIKI at the end of December, successfully finishing the season. This year, he started with the Polish team Czarni, playing three games in the league.
Okoro is already in Karditsa and training with our team, ready to immediately strengthen us in the ongoing challenges of both the Stoiximan GBL and the Basketball Champions League. We welcome Francis back and wish him health, strength, and new successes with ASK Karditsa IAPONIKI.”
Elsewhere in the Basketball Champions League field on Wednesday, 26-year-old Alex O’Connell signed with ALBA Berlin for the remainder of the 2025-26 season.
