An aggressive wave of roster reconstruction has swept through the Basketball Champions League as ambitious franchises finalize their personnel for the upcoming 2026–27 campaign.
Heading to Group H of the Regular Season opposite Asisa Joventut, Bnei PenLink Herzliya, and Telekom Baskets Bonn, Liga Betclic champion Porto secured 32-year-old guard James Woodard. The former Tulsa standout returns to the competition after logging 17 prior appearances split between MHP Riesen Ludwigsburg and King Wilki Morskie Szczecin. Looking to match their domestic rivals, Qualification Rounds outfit Benfica bolstered their squad by locking down Luther Muhammad on a one-year agreement.
Meanwhile, sudden injury adversity in Italy prompted immediate backcourt reinforcements. With Tomas Woldetensae sidelined for the next two months, UnaHotels Reggio Emilia acquired 27-year-old Riccardo Visconti. The Turin native brings 27 games of BCL experience to head coach Dimitris Priftis’s unit, which faces a demanding Group E schedule against Juventus, KVIS Pardubice, and Unicaja.
Tre Mitchell, Devon Daniels to Group B
Fresh talent is also reshaping Group B, where Cibona welcomed 25-year-old forward-center Tre Mitchell. ALBA Berlin locked up youth prospect Nevio Bennefeld to a five-year commitment on the heels of his first Champions League appearance last season. Emerging starlets Normantas Jursys and Eliah Braun also earned roster spots with Juventus and Rasta Vechta, respectively.
