AEK have announced the signing of Giorgos Tsalmouris, confirming the return of the 30-year-old forward/center seven years after his previous spell with the club.
The 2.17-meter big man has agreed to a contract through the end of the 2026-27 season, strengthening AEK’s frontcourt and adding another domestic player to their roster.
Tsalmouris initially joined AEK in 2015 after playing at Iowa State University and remained with the club until 2019, spending the 2017-18 season on loan at Kolossos Rhodes. He was part of the team that won the FIBA Intercontinental Cup in 2019.
Last season, he played for Panionios, averaging 9.6 points and 3.7 rebounds in 24 Greek League appearances. He also averaged 11.1 points and 3.4 rebounds across 15 EuroCup games.
Tsalmouris previously played for PAOK, Apollon Patras, Real Betis and Bilbao. He began preseason preparations with Olimpia Milano before completing his return to AEK.
